  • Increases flexibility
  • Improves the horse's overall disposition
  • Improves performance!!!

Which horses need a sports massage?

Every horse from the high performance athlete to the family horse can benefit from sports massage therapy.  60% of your horse's total body weight is skeletal muscle which can be kept healthy and functioning at optimum levels with this non-invasive procedure.

How do I know if my horse is suffering?

Your horse can't tell you how he's feeling but he CAN show you.  Conditions that may be the result of tight muscles and/or muscle spasms:

  • Head tossing
  • "Off" for no apparent reason
  • Resisting neck motion to the opposite side
  • Coordination difficulties
  • Saddle slipping off to one side
  • Short on extensions
  • Improper leads
  • "Cold" back
  • Attitude problems

Can a horse with no obvious signs of muscle problems benefit from an equine sports massage?

Yes, yes, yes!  Prevention is key and can save you a trip to the vet down the road.  Maintenance at regular intervals can maintain soundness, free-flowing movements, efficient and relaxed gaits, and all-around wellness of the equine body and mind.
